Maternal Mental Health, Parenting and Partnerships

As a result of her personal experiences, Dr. Marni Reuling is committed to helping women and their families’ on their personal journeys to parenthood.  She holds a certification in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International, for her expertise in this personal and highly emotional area.

Dr. Reuling specializes in working with women and their partners before pregnancy, during pregnancy and following birth.  Her practice focuses on infertility, miscarriage, peripartum and postpartum anxiety and depression and postpartum adjustment; these experiences are often accompanied by strong emotions, misconceptions and stressful societal expectations.  Dr. Reuling believes that women on the journey toward motherhood benefit from specialized mental health treatment to assist them in adjusting to the highs and lows of the reproductive process.  Professional intervention for those experiencing depression and/or increased levels of anxiety prior to, during and after pregnancy, will enable women to be more open about how they feel and more able to secure and benefit from the support they require and deserve.

Common pre-pregnancy and perinatal issues treated are anxiety, depression, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth and high risk pregnancies.  Postpartum situations may include postpartum depression or anxiety, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) hospitalization, adjusting to parenthood and sustaining the partner relationship following parenthood.
